The iPhone 15 will switch to USB-C and feature a titanium rim, according to CAD renders. It will also get Dynamic Island, which is currently exclusive to the Pro models.

The CPU will be powered by a 3nm TSMC A17 chip with up to 1.6x logic density. That’s a significant improvement over the A14 Bionic processor in the iPhone 14 Pro and Max.

Improved Battery Efficiency

According to a report from ChargerLab, which has a solid track record when it comes to power specialist leaks, all iPhone 15 models will swap out Lightning for USB-C. That’s a major change, as it means the phone will be able to take advantage of full wireless charging speeds of up to 15W and open up a whole new world of MagSafe accessories.

A new chip could also make a significant difference when it comes to battery life. Apple’s A17 Bionic chip is rumored to benefit from the TSMC 3nm production process, which is more efficient than the 5nm chip found in the current iPhone 14.

In terms of memory, all iPhone 15 models are expected to get 8GB of RAM, a big increase on the 4GB on older iPhones. That won’t necessarily have a positive impact on battery life, but it will allow the phone to multitask more efficiently and potentially run faster.

Other potential battery improvements include a switch to 28nm OLED driver chip, a move that could further reduce the phone’s power consumption. That’s especially important given that the display is usually the biggest drain on a phone’s battery.

iPhone 15 120Hz Refresh Rate

One of the more sought-after features on modern smartphones is 120Hz refresh rates, which enable smoother gameplay and video playback. Unfortunately, Apple isn’t expected to add support for this feature to the iPhone 15 lineup due to limitations in its supply chain.

According to a tipster who goes by the name TheGalox, this year’s non-Pro iPhone models will only offer 60Hz OLED displays. Similarly, the Pro models will only receive LTPO high refresh rate ProMotion display technology. Apple reportedly wants to keep these technologies exclusive to its Pro devices as a way to justify a higher price tag.

It’s also possible that the iPhone 15 will ditch the Lightning port for USB-C, allowing users to connect accessories like speakers and laptops at faster speeds. The change will also help Apple comply with European regulations that aim to cut down on electronic waste.

The iPhone 15 will reportedly get a new main camera sensor as well. The device will supposedly use Sony’s latest “state-of-the-art” sensor, which doubles the saturation signal in each pixel for brighter colors. This sensor is also said to have a larger thong tin iphone 15 image circle for better light intake.

iPhone 15 Enhanced Gaming Performance

Several rumors have pointed out that the iPhone 15 could offer improved gaming performance. The new processor is expected to deliver better framerates, allowing users to enjoy more intense games without the device slowing down or running out of power.

The alleged A17 Bionic chip is also expected to offer faster graphics rendering speeds. This should make the new iPhone feel more responsive when streaming videos, snapping pictures, and playing games.

Other rumors suggest that the iPhone 15 will get an improved camera system, including a telephoto lens for better zoom capabilities. Currently, Apple reserves this technology for its Pro models. Moreover, the upcoming iPhone 15 is expected to replace the Lightning port with USB-C. This will increase connectivity speeds and support higher-quality accessories.

Additionally, the Pro models of the iPhone 15 are expected to support Thunderbolt 3 data transfer rates. This will be a significant improvement over the current 3.2Gbps USB-C support on non-Pro models. The upcoming iPhone 15 is also expected to feature support for Qi2 wireless charging at 15W speeds. This is a major upgrade over MagSafe’s 10W charging capabilities, which are only available on certain MagSafe chargers. The iPhone 15 is also expected to include an Ultrawide Band (UWB) chip for proximity sensing, which could improve interaction with accessories like the Apple Vision Pro headset.
